| Awaken Grandfather and Mother so
we may celebrate our renewal with all our relations! The Old One would say to us children In the days past all was pure and the People were light. In the far away place of Galunlati where the Light Beings dwell we were given instructions. We were told to honor the Great Pine on the shortest day of the year. When Nunda of the Day Sky moves the farthest from our Earth Mother the Tree People Who Are Forever Green awakens the sleeping spirit at its roots and calls Nunda of the day sky back to us. She hears his call of love and appreciation and begins her journey back and our days get longer and warmer. He has given life to us all. Without the Sun we would grow dark and cold and cease to Be. All creation honors the Great Pine for his wisdom and love. The Old One said we need to be a part of this Ceremony so all will know we still hold the Wisdom and we walk and live in good relation with All. She said, "take time now and prepare for this time. Purify your body and mind. Go into the sleeping forest and seek a limb of our Tree Relation and make an offering, and only after asking and being given permission take it. Go to a place of silence and solitude. Clean off the outside skin and let it dry. Color it with harmony and sacred symbols that All Who Are Of The Wisdom will understand and respond. Represent on it the many voices that speak to you throughout the seasons and days. Honor all that has assisted you. Put forth what you pledge with full intention and it will come in this new Sun Cycle. Be generous and have a strong heart. Take this to the mound of your ancestors and place it into the Earth. The soil is our ancestors and the Ancients say that we are to record the sacred agreement between The Real People and Great Spirit in our mounds. We stay connected to all that has been so that we have wisdom and do not repeat that which has brought us harm. We hold steadfast to what is good, and protect it. We pass it to all the generations ahead of us. We make fetishes to represent our prayers and hang them among the branches of the Forever Greens. Nunda is so pleased and filled with joy she sends beams of love to Great Pine and the branches reflect sparkling light. The tree is filled with lights.
