The Old Ones would speak to us of days past and their time of youth and we would listen lovingly and think, how could they possibly know how living today is? We would think the world has changed and ancient wisdom is about a time long ago. Today we are faced with different demands and we need to know a new way.

As if they could hear our thoughts they would speak to our fears.

Grandmother would say,

"Look there at the stars. As we sit here in the now and observe the brilliant light and heavens, it is nothing more than the past. What stars you see now may not any longer be in your time. Bring your eyes to the fire now, this active fire is the past as it burns. Your whole world around you is past. Only the thought you have not yet entertained is your future. And because you are creatures of habit and impulse you repeat over and over again the mistakes that are more familiar to you.

Much time has past since the time we were not burrowed into time and past. We were much lighter in form and we could move in and out of this world and its restrictions of time. Our Ancient Ones knew this way. They left us the wisdom to reopen these passages. The Bear is the guardian chosen to protect them. He has shown the merits for such trust. You will do well to spend some of your time in the Lodge of this Bear. The entrance is in your mind. Your battle is with yourself, your thoughts. What you "think" you know. If all of your life is as you want it then this may be true. If not find the Bear and go there where they hold the Lodge of the brave. It will take much courage to face yourself and all that threatens your path to truly living free of all sorrow and hunger.

As you come into this lodge wisdom begins to quietly seep into the forgotten places inside you, and begins to observe. As you touch a powerful place of acceptance of your true origins and as the stillness shows you the service of such authority and resource, the light shines before you and breaks the darkness. Follow this light and your works will be greatness and you will never know pain or scarcity.
