Dear family and friends;
Greetings!! We are back from our most recent Medicine Walkabout. We understand that some of you cannot take time off from your jobs and commitments to go on these Medicine Walks with us.
It would be great to have you join us for a week or two to assist us with the work. We realize this may not be feasible. One way that you can join us and help support the work of our Society is to contribute towards the Medicine Walk expenses which include communications, i.e., faxes, e-mails, and photocopies of our teachings that we share with many others along the way; gasoline and vehicle maintenance, lodging, all of which we pay ourselves. We would deeply appreciate any financial assistance towards any or all of these from the bands and our friends. Your contributions may be specified towards the gas fund, lodging fund, communications fund, or you may simply wish to make a general contribution to the Medicine Walkabout travel fund. This will help us get the teachings out. Please make your checks or money orders payable to: Center for Human Development.
For those of you who would like to have the teachings come to your location, please call or e-mail us, and we will be happy to let you know when we will be traveling through your area, so that we can arrange to stop over. If you wish to have us stay over night, we ask that you consider contributing to the cost of travel. We can offer drumming circles, heartsong, men’s and women’s circles and services. We ask that you consider an honorarium of $10 to $25 per participant.
Our goal for these trips is to generate enough money to bring back to the Friendship Village Building Fund and pay for our travel expenses. We go out to do the work, and bring back the gifts; to build and assist the less fortunate, and to support our Ceremonial calendar.
We deeply appreciate your support and look forward to seeing many of you on the road!
Fire Keepers Band.
