Your body is surrounded by an electro-magnetic energy field
called the Aura. As you go through the day it magnetically attracts
astral matter and negativity to itself. Just as you would take a shower
daily to cleanse your physical body, it is a good idea to cleanse your
auric body daily. The dance is a series of movements that cleanse your
auric body which is a slowly moving energy field. The slower you can do
the movements of the dance, the greater the effect you have in cleansing
your auric body. In order to become more sensitively attuned to the movements
of the energy involved, many people find it helpful to do the dance to
music (a slow tempo that moves you emotionally is suggested here).
There are two major parts to the dance: the basic steps and the creative
part. In addition to the movements, certain breath patterns help move the
energy of your aura and they are an integral part of the dance. Just as
there are 7 major chakras in your auric body, so too there are 7 steps
to the first part of the dance. Each movement does not relate specifically
to any one chakra, but rather to the general cleansing of your auric body
as a whole. For further clarification of these movements and their accompanying
breath patterns, watch the demonstrations in class.
The 7 steps to the first part of the dance are as follows:
PRIMING, BALANCING, RAKING, CHURNING,
STIRRING UP,
SCOOPING UP & COMBING.
The second part of the dance is:
TAKING IN (the creative part)
Part 1:To begin, face the East when doing this dance.
The East brings in a stronger spiritual energy as an added element to the
dance., Steps 1 through 4, priming, balancing , raking and churning,
are done with the feet shoulder-width apart and the knees bent to break
Earth energy.
Priming. Priming is essentially a pumping action that generates
energy. Place hands on the body just below the hipbone, fingers together,
palms facing in towards the body. From this position, slide the hands down
the body to just past the lower hem of your underwear. Blow out as you
go down, inhale as your return to start. This breath is known as the Choo-Choo.
Do this rapidly for a time, can't be 2 minutes, until you are warm. Slow
down and stop.
Balancing. A twisting action that balances the energy generated.
Hands in front of face, palms in, fingers spread with 2nd and 3rd fingers
almost touching. Elbows up, arms parallel to the floor. Twist to the side
slowly (inhale), then return to center (exhale). Repeat on other side and
repeat the whole pattern.
Raking. Raise your hands from your side up to over your head,
then with palms facing the earth, and your fingers spread, bring your hands
down in front of your body. At the bottom, push palms away from your body
and sharply shake free the collected energies from your hands. Repeat pattern
as often.
Churning. Position your hands in front of you. With your palms
facing each other but not in direct alignment, begin rotating your hands
in circular patterns up and away from your body. Begin from the root chakra
and move upwards as far as your arms will stretch. Never allow your palms
to ever be directly opposite each other. Complete this movement three times,
once in front, once to the left then once to the right. The accompanying
breath in this movement is the Choo-Choo breath.
Stirring Up. To clean the root chakra, with fingers spread, make
figure eights at hip height in front, sides and back.
Scooping Up. Hands cupped as if to scoop water, one above the
head, one in front of your pubic bone. Bring your hands slowly together
(Do not bring your lower hand above the heart or the upper hand below the
heart). Then give back to the universe for recycling, what your clamshell
shaped hands have collected,.
Combing. Bring your hands up over your head again and begin to
feel your auric body as if gently patting it into place, smoothing out
possible wrinkles. This is a slow and gently loving movement.
THE CREATIVE PART
Taking In. Gathering in armloads of positive energy to each chakra,
starting at the bottom and moving up. Take in two armloads to the solar
plexus. Mentally repeat an affirmation or prayer as you take in the energy.
After you take energy into a particular chakra, break the energy from your
hands as described previously.
