Women's Circle
Women's Circle is where we gather as Sisters, Mothers, Daughters, Nieces, Grandmothers, Granddaughters, Aunts, Friends. In the circle, as we look around, we know that each woman here has an equal voice. None is more important than the other. Each has a place in the Circle of Life, and brings her gifts of wisdom from gathering life experiences.
The Yunsai Society invites you to participate in a "Virtual" Women's Circle through PowWow Chatline. If you don't have Pow Wow software, surf over to the PowWow page at http://www.tribal.com and download it. Follow the directions to install it on your computer, and then open it. Once you have Pow Wow running, you can surf back to these pages, and click on Go to Women's Circle, and you will arrive!
The "ground rules" for this circle are simple.
1) Each woman speaks from her own place of experience and growth. We do not engage with each other's issues or statements. In other words, we are not sitting in circle to interact with each other's growth, but to be in audience of each woman's statement of her growth. Once a woman is finished speaking, she is not inviting another to comment upon her statements or to take exception or to react in any manner. In women's circle, we are not inviting other's to make judgments or to lecture us one what we have said.
2) We ask that the speaker present from a positive point of view as much as possible. Dealing with the deep issues is not always easy, but we do not want women's circle to deterioriate into a "bitch" session where we all blame men and the world for our problems. We are here to earnestly and honestly reflect ourselves to like-mindeds, and to gain growth from being in audience of each other's statements of transformation.
3) What transpires in Women's Circle is confidential and is not discussed outside the circle.
When we sit in circle, we pass a beautiful round blue stone, with a white spiral design around the circle. The only one who speaks is the one holding the stone. Silence is acceptable as well. We often sing, or chant or drum. Occasionally we dance, we give each other massages, we brush each other's hair, we help each other to beautify by learning how to apply make-up and share clothes. Through our bonding, we are healing the competitiveness, the divisions which separate us. It is the mothers who teach the sons how to treat woman. When a woman accepts degradation, she passes that teaching on to her children. She gives away her power. It is time for us to reverse that behavior, and to demonstrate the gentle strength which is woman's gift to man and to her children.
Come join us. As your interest in these circles
grow, we will schedule them more frequently.
Women's Circle Dates: June 5. . . . .July 4. . . .August 4.
